CostGap privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
CostGap is a Shopify app made by Triple U Solutions ("we"). It finds products whose cost is missing, lets merchants enter costs, and analyses sales and margins. This policy explains what CostGap reads from your store, what it keeps, and for how long.
What CostGap reads from your store
- Products and variants: titles, SKUs, prices, cost per item, vendor, product type and the product's main image.
- Orders from the last 30 days: for each order line, the variant, quantity, price paid and discounts applied, plus the order's sales channel. CostGap does not read customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers or addresses.
- Collections: each collection's title and the products in it.
- Your plan: whether your store subscribes to CostGap Pro.
What CostGap changes
CostGap changes a product's cost per item only when you enter a cost and click Save. It changes nothing else in your store.
What we store
- Your store's Shopify domain and the access token Shopify issues to the app.
- Results of your latest scans: product and variant names, IDs, prices, costs, and sales totals per product, discount, sales channel and collection. We keep the last 5 scans.
- A record of cost changes (old and new cost, and when), so you can see your cost history.
We store no information about your customers.
How we use it
Only to show you CostGap's results in your Shopify admin. We don't sell or share your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Where it is kept
On our servers at DigitalOcean (New York, United States), with encrypted backups in DigitalOcean Spaces. Traffic to the app passes through Cloudflare. These providers process data only to host and protect the app.
Deleting your data
When you uninstall CostGap we delete your store's data straight away, and again when Shopify asks us to (48 hours after uninstalling). Backups that may still contain it expire within 30 days. To ask about or delete your data at any other time, email us.
